The Oregon License Directory has been selected as one of six nominees for the National Association of State Chief Information Officers annual awards in the category for “Digital Government: Government to Business.” The prestigious NASCIO awards program, in its 28th consecutive year, honors outstanding information technology achievements in the public sector. “This is well-deserved recognition for our agency's work to make it more convenient to do business in Oregon,” said Secretary of State Jeanne P. Atkins. “I applaud the work of the Corporation Division and our Information Services Division in working collaboratively to better serve Oregon's business community.” The Oregon License Directory (https://apps.oregon.gov/sos/licensedirectory) allows state business owners to easily identify state and local government license requirements for their business. The Oregon License Directory provides a single information source for over 1,400 license, certification, permit and registration requirements in Oregon. “As the first stop for business in Oregon, the Corporation Division provides comprehensive information about starting and operating a business,” said Peter Threlkel, Director of the Oregon Corporation Division. “The Oregon License Directory is an excellent example of how the Corporation Division supports business and ensures access to information is simple and easy as possible so Oregon business owners can focus on their work, not researching government requirements across hundreds of government websites.” Projects and initiatives from NASCIO member states, territories, and the District of Columbia were eligible for nomination. Finalists have been named in 11 different award categories; the recipient in each category will be announced at the upcoming NASCIO Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida this September.
