Salem, OR – Today, pursuant to Article V, Section 15b(4), of the Oregon Constitution, Governor Tina Kotek provided notice that she is considering a veto on the following bill from the 2026 legislative session:

House Bill 4177, Relating to Public Meetings.

The Governor understands the intent of the legislation, however she is considering a veto because of concerns that parts of the bill may undermine transparency in the conducting of public business.

The deadline for Governor Kotek to make a final decision on this bill is Friday, April 17.
