(Salem, OR) — Today, Governor Tina Kotek announced that she has appointed Justin W. Nelson to the 6th Judicial District covering Umatilla and Morrow Counties. Mr. Nelson will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Robert W. Collins, Jr. His appointment is effective January 1, 2027.

Justin Nelson is a native Oregonian who earned his juris doctor from Willamette University. Currently he is the District Attorney and county counsel for Morrow County. Previously he worked for the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
