Governor Kitzhaber announces Josephine County District Attorney vacancy
{Salem, OR)— Governor Kitzhaber today announced he is accepting applications for Josephine County District Attorney to fill the vacancy created by DA Stephen D. Campbell's resignation. The Governor thanked DA Campbell for his service to Josephine County and said he will fill the position by appointment. Campbell's resignation takes effect February 28, 2015. The Governor will fill this vacancy by appointment based on merit. He encourages applications from lawyers with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Oregon law requires that at the time of appointment the appointee must be admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Oregon (ORS 8.630 and 8.640). The Governor's Office is now accepting applications. Applicants must submit a District Attorney Interest Form to the Governor's Office. Please note that the District Attorney Interest Form is a distinct form that was recently updated and is not the same form that is used for judicial vacancies.
