Governor Kate Brown Appoints Rosa Klein as Human Services Policy Advisor
Governor Kate Brown today announced the appointment of Rosa Klein as Human Services Policy Advisor, effective Jan. 24. Klein will be responsible for working across state agencies and with stakeholders, boards, and commissions to support and implement the Governor's human services policy priorities. "Caring for our people and supporting vulnerable Oregonians are core responsibilities of state government," Governor Brown said. "It's important we maximize the efficient delivery of services to support all Oregonians, and I look forward to welcoming Rosa to my team. She is a dedicated and compassionate public servant whose wealth of experience will further this ongoing, important work." Raised in Grand Ronde Oregon, Klein has dedicated much of her career to public service and most recently served as Deputy Director of the Multnomah County Office of Government Relations. Prior to this role, she served as the liaison between the Oregon Public Health Division and Oregon legislators. During the 2015 Legislative session, Klein served as interim legislative director for the Oregon Health Authority and before that was the chief health strategy officer for Health Share of Oregon. Klein holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor's in Fine Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and she currently lives in Southeast Portland with her husband José and their two children.
