Statement: Secretary Griffin-Valade Thanks Audits Division for Report on Racing Commission
The following is a statement from Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade about the Oregon Audits Division’s report on the Oregon Racing Commission:
“Everyone benefits when our laws are clear and fair. This audit points out important areas of ambiguity that the Racing Commission, legislators and the Governor’s office can address to ensure we have clarity, a fully staffed oversight commission and appropriate stakeholder input in our Gambling statutes and enforcement.
“I would like to thank the professional staff at the Oregon Audits Division for their work on this important report. I encourage the Racing Commission, legislators and the Governor to implement the recommendations in this report as soon as possible.”
