Today, Secretary of State Dennis Richardson thanked the creative ideas and excellent work of the second and third of several public servants that he is recognizing during Public Service Recognition Week. The combined innovations of these Secretary of State employees have saved Oregon tax payers millions of dollars. Sarah Roth and Ashish Puri renegotiated a contract that saved the Secretary of State's office $465,000. They added clarity to what specific services were covered by the annual cost of the contract, thereby eliminating overpayments. “Oregon is now getting better value for a fraction of the cost due to their attention to detail and ingenuity,” said Richardson. “All Oregonians should thank Sarah and Ashish for their creative cost-saving ideas and dedication to excellence,” said Richardson. “I encourage all public servants who have efficiency ideas to tell their managers, legislators, unions, and public officials. By working together to increase efficiency, Oregon can redirect savings to educating kids, training workers, and protecting other critical services.”
