Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan To State Leaders: Hold Ourselves Accountable for Problems in Housing, Education and Drug Abuse Prevention
Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan and the Oregon Audits Division will testify in front of three legislative committees today to share the findings of the Secretary’s Mortgage Interest Deduction Audit and K-12 Systemic Risk Report, in addition to providing an update on the Measure 110 audit scheduled for release later this year.
“As Secretary of State I am Oregon’s chief auditor and it is my constitutional responsibility to hold state leaders accountable when we fail to address Oregon’s most urgent problems,” Secretary Fagan said. “In housing, education and drug abuse prevention Oregonians are struggling. The audits I’ve conducted provide valuable data legislators can use to improve the lives of Oregonians, but only if lawmakers take action”
