The following is a statement from Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade about the Oregon Audits Division’s performance audit released today of the Oregon Department of Education.
“I think we can all agree that we want our students to succeed, and our public dollars to be spent as effectively as possible. This audit clearly demonstrates that, without measurable data, it can be very difficult to determine impact — and as auditors, we’re all about impact. I urge the Oregon Department of Education to implement these recommendations, and work with the Legislature to determine how we can better quantify the effectiveness of the High School Success program.”
The Oregon Audits Division's report is available on the Secretary of State's website.
