Energy Facility Siting Council To Meet December 16 In Salem
SALEM — Current and future rulemaking will be the focus of discussion at the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on Friday, December 16 in Salem. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Oregon Department of Energy’s new office, 550 Capitol St. See below for information about public parking options. The main items on the Council’s agenda include: • Sage Grouse Rulemaking: The Council will hold a public hearing at 9 a.m. to receive comments on draft rules related to sage grouse conservation. After the close of the hearing, the Council will either adopt permanent rules or postpone its decision until a future meeting. • 2017 Rulemaking Schedule: The Council will consider staff’s recommended rulemaking prioritization list. Public comment will be taken. • Stateline Wind Project: The Council will receive an update on mitigation imposed in the Wildlife Monitoring and Mitigation Plan as a result of significant raptor impacts identified in a fatality monitoring study. Council will consider proposed amendments to the WMMP, including installation of new artificial nesting structures, on-going maintenance activities, and short-term and long-term monitoring activities.
