State to hold informational meeting on rulemaking, waterway program
The Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) has scheduled a public meeting to provide information about current rulemaking activities and provide a forum to discuss other waterway-related topics:
January 26, 2016
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Judge Guy Boyington Building
857 Commercial St.
Astoria
DSL is currently undertaking a number of rulemaking activities related to waterways, including historically filled lands, waterway leasing, navigational access maintenance dredging, and ocean renewable energy.
All rulemaking information is on the DSL website: www.oregonstatelands.us.
In addition to providing updates about rulemaking, the meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions of DSL staff regarding any issues related to wetlands and waterways. This meeting will be an open house with informational materials provided.
The State Land Board consists of Governor Kate Brown, Secretary of State Jeanne P. Atkins and State Treasurer Ted Wheeler. The Department of State Lands administers diverse natural and fiscal resources. Many of the resources generate revenue for the Common School Fund, such as state-owned rangelands and timberlands, waterway leases, estates for which no will or heirs exist, and unclaimed property. Twice a year, the agency distributes fund investment earnings to support K-12 public schools. The agency also administers Oregon’s Removal-Fill Law, which requires people removing or filling certain amounts of material in waters of the state to obtain a permit.
