State Extends Deadline to Comment on New Air Toxics Screening Levels
Public comment period extended from March 31 to April 14
The Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality are providing additional time for public comment on an updated list of short-term concentration guidelines (SGCs) for assessing immediate risks from certain air toxics.
OHA and DEQ have extended the comment period at the request of stakeholders. This will provide more time to review the SGCs—known as “24-hour screening levels”—for metals. OHA and DEQ will use the input to develop draft Cleaner Air Oregon rules.
The “Proposed Short-Term Guideline Concentrations” are posted at the Cleaner Air Oregon website at http://cleanerair.oregon.gov/
Public comment on the document will be open through April 14, 2017. Comments can be submitted to EHAP.Info@state.or.us.
