Ness & Campbell Crane, Inc., issued $8,400 penalty by DEQ for stormwater violations
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an $8,400 civil penalty to Ness & Campbell Crane, Inc., for failure to perform the required stormwater monitoring in accordance with their permit at their facility located at 5730 NE 138th, Portland, OR. The company failed to perform stormwater monitoring twice during 2014-2015 year and once during 2015-2016 year which is a Class I violation.
DEQ issued the penalty because permitees are required to sample and monitor their stormwater to ensure the discharges meet the benchmarks of their permit. Failure to meet the benchmarks could indicate a harmful level of industrial pollutants that could enter streams and rivers, thereby impacting aquatic habitat and life as well as reducing the safety and of public waters.
