Registered Appraisal Management Company
An Appraisal Management Company (AMC) is an external third party that oversees an appraiser panel of more than 15 appraisers in Oregon or at least 25 appraisers in 2 or more States. An AMC is authorized by a client to recruit, select and retain appraisers; contract with appraisers to perform appraisal assignments; manage the process of having an appraisal performed, or review and verify the work of appraisers. Mortgage brokers sell real estate paper for themselves or for others or accept funds from others to invest in real estate paper. Mortgage brokers also make or negotiate mortgage loans. The mortgage lender license permits a company to act as a mortgage banker, mortgage broker or both.
