Description

As of January 1, 1998 the City of Banks began enforcing Chapter 110 of the City Code of Ordinances which reads "A code providing for trades, shops, occupations, professions, and businesses for the purpose of revenue and regulation; providing for the method of issuing licences; providing penalties for violations." This code requires application and license fee, which are due on January 1st of each year, and are delinquent on February 1st of each year. In the event that any business requiring a business license fails to obtain the license, or does not pay the required fee, the City of Banks will add a penalty of 10% of the fee for each calendar month, or fraction of a month that the fee is delinquent. The City of Banks also may declare that the business that is violating the code which is considered a public nuisance, and the business would be subject to the provision of the City Code of Ordinances.
