Description
May fabricate, install, alter, and repair pressure piping; install boilers and pressure vessels by attachment of piping connections; and install, assemble and repair cast iron sectional boilers.
Duration
License renewal is every three years on July 1.
Renewal Information
A renewal notice will be mailed to the licensee approximately six weeks prior to the expiration of their license. Continuing Education (if necessary) and fees will be explained on the renewal form. Renewal fees vary by license type.
Duplicate License Requirements
If you lost your license or have changed your address and would like a replacement license, submit form 2523 from Building Codes website, along with appropriate $10 fee.
Prerequisites and Requirements
Prerequisites
2,000 hours of verified work experience performing pipe-welding or brazing on ASME B31 pressure piping;
AND
2,000 hours of experience performing work on pressure piping and boilers.
Required Documentation
Completed application with applicable fee
Copy of high school diploma, GED or equivalent
Copy of apprenticeship completion (if required by license type)
Experience qualification documents (if required by license type)
Examination Information
Three-hour, 52 questions open book. Upon approval, a list will be provided outlining approved exam material.
