Description
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists assess, diagnose, and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders involving the application of family systems or other psychotherapeutic principles and methods in the delivery of services to individuals, couples, children, families, groups or organizations.

Renewal Information
Licenses are renewed annually during the licensee's birth month. The renew is completed and fees are paid online via the Licensee Portal.
Duplicate License Requirements

Prerequisites and Requirements
Continuing Education Requirements
Licensees must complete 40 clock hours of approved continuing education every two license years, birth month through birth month. Six clock hours of the 40 required must be ethics training and four must be cultural competency education. Beginning on July 1, 2022, two hours of continuing education related to suicide risk assessment, treatment and management will be required.
