Prerequisites

Before operating, each applicant must certify that it has or will have Cargo Insurance coverage or other Surety of at least $10,000 to protect shippers against loss or damage to their household goods. Those providing service only in Oregon and operating vehicles or vehicle combinations that exceed 26,000 pounds must provide proof of Bodily Injury & Property Damage (BIPD) insurance coverage of at least $750,000.

- If also operating interstate, the insurance filing with USDOT satisfies this requirement.
