Description

A check-cashing business is defined in the Oregon Revised Statutes as any person that conducts a business that for a fee, service charge, or other consideration provides money, credit, or any other thing of value in exchange for payment instruments. A check-cashing business does not include a financial institution or the employees of a licensee. The law limits the fees check cashers can charge, assuring standardized fees and rules.
