Description
A journeyman plumber may perform all plumbing installations, alterations, or remodels. A journeyman plumber has completed an approved apprenticeship training program or equivalent training/experience and has passed the State Plumbing Board plumbing license examination.
Duration
License renewal is every three years on April 1.
Renewal Information
A renewal notice will be mailed to the licensee approximately six weeks prior to the expiration of their license. Continuing Education (if necessary) and fees will be explained on the renewal form. Renewal fees vary by license type
Duplicate License Requirements
If you lost your license or have changed your address and would like a replacement license, submit form 2523 from Building Codes website, along with appropriate $10 fee.
Prerequisites and Requirements
Prerequisites
(1) A certificate of completion from a registered 4-year apprenticeship program, or a referral letter from either the registered training committee or Oregon Plumbing Board approved training program.
OR
(2) Verified proof of at least 576 hours of academic classroom training in subjects listed in OAR 918-695-0030(2)(a); AND verified proof of 3,850 hours lawful commercial AND 3,850 hours lawful residential on-the-job experience as an apprentice or journeyman plumber.

Examination Information
4 hour 64 question open book. Upon approval, a list will be provided outlining approved exam material.
Continuing Education Requirements
