Description
Licensed Professional Counselors assess, diagnose and treat individuals with mental, emotional or behavioral disorders using counseling services to address personal growth and wellness, provided through therapeutic relationships with individuals, couples, children, families, groups, and organizations.

Renewal Information
Licenses are renewed annually during the licensee's birth month. The renewal is completed and fee is paid online via the Licensee Portal.
Duplicate License Requirements
The license PDF is available for download by licensees via the Licensee Portal.
Prerequisites and Requirements
Continuing Education Requirements
Licensees must complete 40 clock hours of approved continuing education every two license years, birth month through birth month. Six clock hours of the 40 must be ethics training and four in cultural competency education. Beginning July 1, 2022, two clock hours of continuing education related to suicide risk assessment, treatment and management will also be required.
