Description

A person who has received formal training in prehospital and emergency care, and is licensed to attend any person who is ill or injured or who has a disability. Police officers, fire fighters, funeral home employees and other persons serving in a dual capacity one of which meets the definition of "emergency medical services provider" are "emergency medical services providers" within the meaning of ORS 682.

Duration

Every 2 years, initial not to exceed 30 months

Renewal Information

Shall be valid until June 30 of each even-numbered year, unless sooner revoked or suspended. The initial licensing period may not exceed 30 months.

Prerequisites

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Required Documentation

Examination Information

Verification of skills proficiency, successful completion of student competency evaluations, and passing the Emergency Medical Responder written examination with a score of 71% or higher.

Continuing Education Requirements

Complete 12 hours of continuing education as specified in Appendix 1 or complete all requirements of NREMT EMT EMR re-registration: https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PROVIDERPARTNERRESOURCES/EMS/Documents/APPENDIX1.pdf
