Description

This certificate of competency allows a Boiler Inspector to inspect boilers and pressure vessels in the State of Oregon. Must also possess an active Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC).

Renewal Information

A renewal notice will be mailed to the licensee approximately six weeks prior to the expiration of their license. Fees will be explained on the renewal form. Renewal fees vary by license type.

Prerequisites and Requirements

Prerequisites

Must have a commission issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. Must be actively employed by an insurance company, owner-user, or the State of Oregon.

The exam is an open book exam covering the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC), ASME CSD-1, and Oregon Boiler and Pressure Vessel Laws and Rules.
